Pine Beetles doing their thing

This pictures are from a trip to Colorado in December. Among other great adventures and stories, a friend told us about this county's (and a lot of CO and WY) trouble with the pine beetles killing all the trees. Clearing forests with ease. Nothing I have read about seems to provide any substantial solution. Here is hoping nature steps in, with several days of -20 degree weather. That seems to be the only way. Here are some views of the landscape. It still looks pretty to me.

Family Times

So here are a few of the projects that were a lot of fun, as we wrapped up 2009 and got rolling with the new year.

Cloudy, cold winter is quite beautiful too. I love to feel the air.

Sticky Fog

The last month has been good with plenty of family time and photography sessions and cold weather. I plan on posting some images from the fun families I photographed over the holidays, but for now, here is some frost on a local plant. Yesterday was a foggy day, and the cold made some of it stick. Very pretty to see all the trees, shrubs and grass highlighted in white.
